It gets difficult for one to stop using this drug once they get addicted to it. People who are getting marijuana addiction are on the rise today. Different problems, personally or in society, are the root causes for one to start getting addicted to this drug.

Marijuana is taken in a pipe or in the form of a cigarette. There are few people who take this drug either mixed with food or in tea. Very adverse affects are caused on the person who consumes marijuana in any form. It can affect the mental health by stopping the function of the cannabinoid receptors located in the brain, which are responsible for a person’s thoughts, memory, concentration, sensory and time perceptions and other coordinated movements. On high dosages of this chemical, a person can get affected with his speech and conscious and after a period of time, he may not even know of what action he is performing.

Apart from affecting the brain, even the lungs, heart and other parts of the body get seriously affected on marijuana addiction. One can increase the risk of developing a heart attack and may also get breathing or respiratory problems. A person’s daily life and behavior can also change rapidly without even himself being aware of.

Every effort must be made in order to make the persons stop using and avoid such drugs like marijuana where high health-risk-factors are involved. There are few behavioral and motivational incentives that might be helpful in order to treat such addicted people who cannot stop using marijuana. Such persons must be treated very carefully and affectionately and must be told all the negative effects that might be caused by that person. There are some counseling groups which provide proper counseling mentioning the after side effects to that person, and also making him aware of all the risk factors that are involved.
